But ... that's the exact opposite type of midfielder from what we need.

We need a good, old-fashioned 'ard-man, we've got enough creative players.

He was scheduled to be part of a BBC special, but when the camera crew turned up he was nowhere to be found.

Apparently, he just had to Popov for a minute.

*coat already on *

Why dont you just spend 7 million to meet the buyout clause on Poulsen already. For 7 million he would be a great buy, plus he is the hard man you all want.

Agreed a holding midfielder is what we need.

This fella could be good but we've already got Jenas who can play defensive but seems to be more of an attacker and predomidently attack-minded players such as O'Hara and Boateng (I also though Tainio was supposed to be more of an attacker than a defending when he signed but he's turned out to be a grafter - still not a designated holding midfielder though).

That only leaves us with Zokora (off to African Cup and passing suspect) and Huddlestone who've a bit chunky and may be on his way.

We need a good, athletic holding midfield player who can pass the ball about and dominate the midfield.

Oh and a left-winger would also be much appreciated!

Popov is atletic holding creative atacking miedfielder , its just what we need, i don`t think the creativity in Spurs is on the good level , more of the creative things come from Berbatov and when he didn`t play the team doesn`t create much chances for goal .

Doctor Who is pulling stories out of his a**. There is no such rumour in Bulgaria. And the player he mentioned is not good enough for Spurs. He is a good young prospect but that's it. He'll need at least a couple of year with the reserves and even then I am not sure he'll be good enough to play first team fooite.

Plus he has a bad temper and bad discipline both on and off the pitch. Case closed.

Stop talking crap and read some papers, in almost every got the story . He is no good ? are you joking , he is capitan on U21 and he got matches for adult naticional team , he made Holland defenders to look funny, as his atitude i didn`t saw anything bad from him , i didn`t know why you hate him but he is obvious quality cheap player , last time i flood the forum when i said to buy Martin Pertov and the most guys was scepticals about that and now everyone saw what quality player he is . Now i said buy this guy , he is not Martin Petrov but its quality player now and probably star in the future

just to add one thing , his former teammate Nikolay Dimitrov got trials in the scum and probably will sign up a profesional contract http://arsenal-mania.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35529 , sorry about this link just info . Ivelin Popov and Nikolay Dimitrov grow up together in Levski Sofia the Bulgaria champion and they are one of the Bulgaria biggest talents .In my personal opionion Ivelin Popov is better , .Venger wants Nikolay Dimitrov probably because he wants left winger . Nikolay Dimitrov will also probably be transfer hit and Arsenal gonna get him. Maybe Spurs also should push for him but i doubt that , Levy only buys expensive players
