Never gonna happen but picking Spence and Sess would be our best means of dealing with their wide men

I'd take a fkin awful nil-nil right now

Might sound crazy but I’m quietly confident of getting a win in this game. Surely it’s about time that we raised our game (I include the fans in this too) this season and what better incentive to do it in this game. Detail their championship ambitions and kick start our top 4 ones at the same time.

kane to bag a brace just has an air of inevitability about it, one of those weird football gods looking down kind of scenarios.

What we shouldn’t forget is how Arse completely bottled it last season. They aren’t that good, they’re mostly still high on the confidence they’ve built up on back the easiest fixture list start to a season they could have hoped for.

I think a huge factor will be the crowd.

Late kick off on the Sunday will help and if we can create a very loud, intimidating atmosphere I really don’t think Arsenal deal with it very well.

onus is on the fans.

then I expect them to control possession and us to try to hit them on the break.

I would love to see us come flying out the blocks at them and get the crowd going.

not having Emerson or sess in the starting 11, with Kulu and bentacur back would be huge for us.

Tactically speaking, what is likely to happen is that Arsenal's ball-retention and off-the-ball movement will mean that they will dominate the first half and make us look a bit lost. They are likely to score a couple of goals. The crowd will be getting distinctly grumpy about the football.

But that underestimates our ability to score on the break and apparently out of nothing. It would not surprise me to see the teams going in at half time level at 1-1 or 2-2, after Arsenal had dominated the first half.

Then what happens is anyone's guess: although I expect us to be outplayed throughout, I am not convinced that will be reflected in the score line.

Especially if can finally field a fully fit Kulusevski. His ball retention high up the pitch and his creativity are crucial to our squad at present - irreplaceable, until we do some more transfer business - and we've suffered badly since he's been unavailable.

The only prediction I will make is that we will find it difficult to get hold of the ball. The crowd will have to roll with that and not get on the players' backs.
I can see why you'd say this and completely understand given what we've all seen of them based on their form this season and based our form this season.

Finding it difficult to get the ball may be one thing the crowd might cut us some slack on, giving the ball away with silly misplaced passes in dangerous areas won't elicit the same sympathy I suspect...

Fwiw I think the essence of what you're saying is difficult to disagree with and I agree we have a chance but key players coming back will need to pretty much hit the ground running and we simply cannot afford any passengers or players having off days, even one or two or we'll get turned over.

If the crowd generate the same noise they did last season. I think we will do them. That was epic.

oh. And me and the boys are going. So we will be doing our bit! COYS!

To be honest, they played in several big games last season and rose to the occasion, they both started in the 3-0 win against Arsenal, the 2-3 away win at City and the 1-1 draw at Anfield, Emerson was motm in that game also. Thought he was very unlucky to be sent off in the away game at the Emirates this season. If they can stay focussed in the game they're capable of doing a job. I think it'll be Perisic and Doc starting on Sunday however lol Agree about Kulu and Bentancur though, we need one of them back at the absolute minimum.

Romero was man of the match that day.

I’ve watched the odd game of theirs recently and they start really strong, pressing at ? right from the off.

No doubt we’re in for the same and they’ll do their best to quieten the crowd early on but I still have a lingering feeling we can beat them.

If Kane, Son & Kulu are ‘on it’ and we’ve got Bentancur back, I think we can cause them all kinds of problems on the break.

I just hope our backline have got all their clangers out their system and we can put in a solid defensive display.

Hoping too that the recent FA charge will prevent their players from going apoplectic at the ref every time they get tackled… not holding my breath on that one though!
