I don't want Eric Dier anywhere near the starting XI for a game like this. Far too error prone in his current form. Davies the safer bet.

Lloris
Romero Lenglet Davies
Porro Bentancur Hojbjerg Perisic
Kulusevski Kane Son

Forster, Emerson, Dier, Sessegnon, Skipp, Sarr, Bissouma, Danjuma, Richarlison

You haven’t put a CB on the bench, Sanchez will be a sub.
Maybe Lucas in reserve.
Otherwise I like that team.

Hopefully a more positive vibe in the stadium for this one to kick start our 2nd half of the season ?

There will probably still be some Levy Out chants and I can resonate with that but we really need to win this one for the top4 race so hope the crowd can really get behind the team.

Some reason for optimism:
-Signings of Porro & Danjuma are both quality and exciting
-Fully fit squad! That could mean a front 3 of Kane, Son, Kulu and bench options such as: Richarlison, Danjuma, Lucas, Bissouma, Emerson, Sessengon, 2 real quality attacking options, a 3rd runner if needed, a quality CM and 2 fresh wing backs
-Son finding form now his mask is off
-Kane going for the record ? ⚽️
-Conte operation should be a reason for the fans to really get bending the team and sing Antonioooo like they’ve never sung it before
-City are there for the taking at the moment

And if all else fails and we lose well they close the gap on Arsenal so should be Funtime Sunday whatever the outcome.

That is actually stating to look tasty ? ? now ? can see why conte was saying he needed 2-3 more windows, add about 5 more in summer and we will have the makings of a very very strong squad.

Yep. Every man and his dog agree we need GK, CB, LCB and then improve the back ups

Yea maybe. I just want to see 3 attacking players on the bench. Not sure I've ever seen that under Conte. Davies can come on for any of the 3 CBs

Yep that’s it mate, actually not tons to do this summer now I’d say those 3 positions + AM to replace Lucas and poss another CM upgrade and we could be absolutely flying.

Nice to have richy and Kulu etc back for finally as our bench options look a scary prospect for oppos now

Find it interesting Perisic is so many lineups when Mahrez absolutely took him to the cleaners last match. I would play Sessegnon because he's much more solid defensively. Now we have Porro we will much more attacking threat down the right so we can balance it out for this match with Sess.

I do feel like Perisic just had a bad game then also though. He's not exactly renowned for his defensive capabilities but he's not often had his pants pulled down like he did that day either.

I'd be happy with either. With Perisic something may actually happen if he gets in an advanced position but with Sessegnon, like you say we may be a little more solid at the back.

I feel the same way. I don't actually see Porro starting against city or Perisic, unless we go with a 352. Which is highly unlikely. Mahrez tore Perisic to pieces last time. And Mahrez isn't exactly lighting it up this season. Either pray Perisic has a much better game, or switch things around to offer more protection down that flank.

Porro won't start, as Stellini will be conservative and Emerson is a strong defender. Plus has more familiarity with how we play. Plus, it sends the wrong message dropping him immediately. He's worked very hard to get back into the starting XI. If we see Porro at all, it'll be if we are chasing game in the last thirty or twenty minutes.

If City have a weakness its the counter-attack, when we get it right we are one of the best teams around doing it. Its why we've had decent results against City in recent times.
We need to be solid at the back though, therefore I would be playing our most defensively strong players which does include Royal.
If the game starts to get away from us then we've got a lot of options on the bench to mix it up.

As much as I think Hojbjerg needs a rest, there is no way he's not starting this game. Bissouma still haven't convinced me he's at his best to start. The rest I agree and the lineup basically pick themselves.

Personally, I would still bench Sonny. Use that last game as a platform for him to build from. Save him for the last 30 mins of the game.
