If you're chucking in Davies you might as well keep Son. The biggest issue with Son this season is that Perisic occupies similar spaces.

Seems weird to swap both out, now Richarlison will have to stay wide which doesn't suit him, as if we go 2 up top with Davies and Emerson we'll be way too narrow.

Looking forward to see what Richy can do with Kulu and Kane. Interested also to see if Ben does better with a little bit more latitude to move forward. He's a smart player even if he doesn't have the fastest wheels so am curious about his forward movement especially what he does off the ball.

You ok with us have 3 remotely attacking players in a side at home?
I did say would prefer back 4.

But if we’re gonna insist on playing this crazy 3-4-3 are you comfortable with Perisic at left wing back at moment?

I put my team in the team v west ham thread, which was way more awesome than one started, but trying to be positive lol. :)

I could be wrong on this (I am) but I think this could be tactically fascinating because we have Lenglet and Romero who are both quite progressive in their defending having more defensively minded wing backs next to them. So potentially (remember this won't happen in reality) instead of a flat 3 at the back, we have the centrally deep central CB, the wingbacks slightly more forward than him and then you have the two CB's either side furthest forward in the 5 which can give you 4 in midfield and both Romero and in particularly Lenglet, do have a pass on them.

A different variance on this was Sheffield United who had overlapping CB's who would go wide. Now I do think both Lenglet and Romero can do that and maybe that's what we will see, this would be my preference (we won't) but I suspect it'll be more central if it happens (it won't).

This could be the tactical evolution we were yearning for, alright yes the time for it was 6 months ago and not as we've just signed the 40 mill wingback who can do the role Conte wanted all along, but still.

I'd say smart money is on keeping things as tight as possible and then going strong late on with attacking wing backs.

Was certainly thinking we might see Lenglet and Romero getting forward a lot more, and also maybe keeping Perisic back in case one of PEH or Skipp gets a knock.

Emerson has been in great form, while Porro played once and was shite. I’m sure PP will be our first choice RWB before too long, but not sure why people are surprised about that selection today.

Davies at Lwb, dont know what i think about that. Perisic has not been so good either but his corners is important ? lets see how it works out
Important game today, lets fucking win it!

Good call, Emerson over Porro. If anything starting Porro v Leicester was a mistake.
Davies at LWB is the real enigma in this XI. With Richy in front of him as well. I'd rather have Son, as average as he has been.
At least it's a pragmatic XI. Start by being solid at the back, and go from there.
