Hi DarT disagree - but fair enough all about opinions :)

True it is DC, personally i would love to be proved wrong, as i do think jj has so much potential to be one of the best midfielders in the league, but for me doesn't deliver often enough.

You obvious believe he does on previous seasons performances, thats where we differ.

Hopefully i am wrong, and you are proved right, becuase that would save us around 17M

I'm afraid it makes perfect sense - look back to your previous post and your misplaced criticisms of JJ - - I would never have guessed you didn't have an agenda against him from that post

You seem to be somewhat confused about exactly what an "agenda" is and what an opinion is.

You say that my criticisms are "misplaced" but that is a purely subjective view ie an opinion.

You then say that I have an agenda based on this? I would dearly love for JJ to become an absolute world class midfielder, but from what I have seen he does not have the ability, that is not an agenda, it is an observation.

I also say that his role has been greatly reduced from the original goal-scoring, all-action midfielder that he was touted as, and played as, to a holding mid who gives the ball to players who can do something with it.

Why has Ramos done this?

Despite the fact that he didnt rep me when he said he would I agree with DC on this.

A top performer for us, even when he is not heavily involved he is putting in the graft.

Top top player.

Why?

Are you so upset that you felt the need to swear twice?

If that upsets you I suggest going to see a councilor.

Or, CHILL THE FUCK OUT!

Absolute rubbish Coyboy - what pisses me off is posts like yours

I sit and read anti JJ stuff week in week out - I see post after post leaving JJ out of their teams - that's up to them -

tell you what CB if you don't like it - stick me on ignore - chances are you'll be on my iognore list pretty soon - so then you won't worry about me being a broken record will you -

Ignore lists are pretty petty and superfluous in my opinion. So you get pissed off with posts that agree with you but are just wondering why you don't tone them down and become less repetitive. It's like you want everyone to know that you have been saying x,y and z all summer. Pretty insecure it seems. You don't know for a fact Jenas will be a regular. I think he should/could be if he peforms more consistently and competition is the best way to do it.

Jenas has had a good pre-season and it looks like Ramos is highl impressed with him. I think JJ is now playing to his full potential.

This season he'll do well!

Unfortunatly, i've always believed that, if he played for wenger, he'd be a great player. Wenger knows how to get the best out of players like jenas, after all, his potential is there for all to see.

Ah. No longer angry. However, I was angry, because I am concerned about our transfer dealings.....especially what I consider our threadbare CB situation. And rather than being able to find out about that, Jenas, who from what I gather plays for a club called Tottenham Hotspur, is vice captain and is no way a threat to be transferred, had taken up over 50% of the commentary in the Transfer thread. I shouldn't have to scroll through 16 pages to find out about Corluka.

I don't mind the argument. I just don't care, and don't think it should hijack every thread. I'm surprised "What are you listening to now" and "Is God Bad" haven't become Jenas discussions.

On the DM front I'd much rather see JJ play there than Zokora. When JJ and Zokora played in the middle together it was always JJ who sat back and came to pick the ball up off the defence to get a move going.

I think if he was told to actually sit and cover then he'd do it quite well. His positional sense is infinitely better than Zokora's, he's quite a good tackler when he wants to be and his passing is definitely better than Zokora's.

Basically if you think how Croatia play they have Kovac who isn't the sort to run around and destroy everyone. He sits, covers the attacks, and when they have the ball he takes it from the defenders and passes it to Modric. For me JJ would be much more suited to that role than Zokora.

I'd be happy with

Bentley - JJ - Modric - Dos Santos

That to me (barring the Lennon/Bentley debate) is our best midfield currently.

Really couldn't agree more. I must be one of the only people on here that doesn't actually think we desperately need Veloso or any other DM. I think JJ and Modric could work very well together. Carrick was never one to get stuck in, he intercepted the play by nipping in and giving the ball to JJ. Jenas' passing is very good and he's quick and a similar build to Carrick so there's no reason why he can't do the job he did. When he went forward on Sunday Modric always covered anyway.

I merged DP's thread with the Appreciation thread of July 08. Still worth a read if anyone wants to get an appreciation of the polorisation of opinions regarding our vice-captain.

I do appreciate what you are trying to say, and to a certain extent there is a point.

But i was discussing the need for a DM to be purchased, whether that be veloso or to a certain extent corluka, and that our present team does not have the required capability. To me the correct place for this was the daily dicussion thread for transfer.

Appreciate that the discussion did seem concentrate on JJ rather than present team in general, but certainly from my perspective it was justifying the need for transfer rather than spurs chat.

Suspect, this is a legacy of past discussions etc, as you elude, apologies if i for one upset you earlier.
