7 matches in 23 days people! He was always going to put out a completely different team for this game, it's what all top clubs do in this tournament! It's all good experience for the younger lads!

As for Poch, he has taken us from top 4 contenders to title contenders so I am more than expectant that he will figure out why we aren't looking as threatening in recent weeks! Probably has something to do with the top scorer in the premier league last year being out for so long!

The fact that the aforementioned weren't even on the bench shows that we are in a busy period and we need to rest players as much as possible also Dier, Wanyama, Lamela, Davies, Tripper are not experienced players?
No, I am talking key attacking threat. Anyway moving on I hope we achieve bigger things this year and yes of course I trust in Poch. It's just always disappointing to get knocked out of a competition especially from the scouse who love to gloat.

You know, I actually agree with you, not as a reaction to this game but in general over the season so far, take away the Man City game and Son's little flurry and it actually seems like the players are nowhere near the levels they got to last season.

Although me and you may differ in opinion on sucking dick as I mentioned earlier, I do agree that we have become pedestrian in the way that we play, we look like we lack spark and creativity and it certainly feels like sometimes our players just don't put the shift in that we know they can.

It may be tactical from Poch and him trying to be less aggressive to conserve energy over the season OR it may be that our players just don't get up for games, Man City is a prime example, if THAT team played every week we would be steam rolling teams but we don't see that energy every week, we seem to be a one half side or a side at the moment that only plays well in the attacking sense when we are getting desperate.

I also think teams have started to figure us out more and Poch doesn't really have a tactical plan B which is something he will have to figure out unless of course he wants the pattern to continue, I think a lot of people are hoping Kane is going to come back and everything will be fixed again but I am not so sure that is going to happen personally.

Mate im sure there is something in sucking dick if all women love it - well all women ive been with - I digress though haha.

I think, like you, that it is to do with Poch trying to learn from last year where we were burnt out a bit and trying to play less aggressively. I certainly wouldn't expect us to pl;ay like we did against City every week - that's simply not a sustainable tactic. I do think there is something in us having to win the game first before we 'rest' up. Its a lot more difficult to start slowly and expecting to play with a higher intensity mid game than the reverse.

We do need a plan B but don't think we have the players for a plan B. I also think Poch is definitely more conservative this season and it is clear to see. Will Kane be able to resolve our attacking issues? I don't know, he will certainly offer more movement than Janssen therefore freeing up more space and allowing our attacking quartet to get into those spaces. Perhaps its wishful thinking.

I also think that we are focussing too much on NOT losing the game as opposed to WINNING the game - that's shown in our play in my view we don't want to lose our unbeaten record (id rather win and lose one for example than draw two so unbeaten records mean jack). Our defense is immense but we have also been hugely lucky at times but regardless of that our defense is staunch but worried that we are now simply becoming a defensive team. Defenses will only win you a max of 38 points if you don't score.

I do think that Poch wanted and needed that Isco type signing I also think our team needed it.

Myabe im overboard but its a few things that have come to mind this season barring the Stoke and the Man City games where we were excellent..

We are not dull. Our opponents make us dull.

We will improve and Learn how to defeat them more effectively.

100% this. Still a very young inexperienced squad regardless of how we did last season they are still learning to play against teams whose main objective is not to attack but to stop us playing.

Sissoko and Janssen.
You think Janssen doesn't fit our style of play? What the actual fuck?

We know the first thing Pochettino demands from his players is work-rate. And Janssen's work-rate is second to none, even surpassing Kane's. Furthermore, Pochettino is a guy who made Rickie Lambert his main striker- you know, a player that also has very strong hold-up play and is good at bringing others into play?

With regards to Sissoko, I agree that he doesn't seem to fit us playing on the right, but the only real thing that he's been decent at since he joined us is working hard for the team, so he does 'fit' in that sense.

Not that it needed confirming but sounds like he wants to stick around for the long haul

Next time he's linked to anyone else, all you need to do is read articles like this for reassurance ;)

With all due respect, it doesn't read any different to many manager's interviews. He said similar things a few months before leaving Southampton.
