If it happens, sacking Mourinho that is and I'm not convinced it will, I think they'll bring in a stop gap to see out the season and then they'll go for Simeone and it wouldn't surprise me if he brings Griezmann with him. The Costa link as well...it will happen I reckon.
Simeone is the stand out but if for some reason he doesn't want to join the mad revolving door circus then there really aren't any other obvious candidates out there.

I really hope you guys are right and Poch never even makes it to their radar screen.

God I love him. I feel something big is going to happen with this man and he knows it too.

Team is confident but so is he, you can tell he is growing as a manager too.

Thanks a lot for posting that. It's what I've been thinking for a while too. Can I just add that I think we are being more careful as to where to foul and break up play. I looked at it once earlier this season and a lot of our fouls were in and around the halfway line. Breaking up teams attacks and possession but in an area where players are unlikely to pick up yellow cards.

I've been screaming for us to do this for years. The best ever example of it, that I've seen live, was by Man U was when we drew at home 1 all (tevez last minute goal game) and Carrick and Hargreaves did it all game to great effect. It was an obvious tactic. They just destroyed us playing by annoying fouls for 90 minutes. If they hadn't taken that approach we would have won that game quite comfortably.
I think these extra fouls can be roughly divided into two types 1) arising from greater determination to get the ball - making the tackles, two-teaming and so on, and 2) the tactical fouls which you describe - the sort which drew Matic's first booking on Saturday, those horrible, sly tugs taps and kicks as the game transitions. Some might say the first sort are acceptable but the second aren't... Given our high % possession, we really are outfouling a lot of teams but I don't see these fouls as being dirty in any way or tending to fall much into that second category...

This is probably the wrong thread for it, but just wanted to show a comparison of how we are tracking after 10 games in the PL & 3 in the EL this season vs the same number last season.

PL:
2015/16 - Played 10 (5 home, 5 away), Won 4, Drawn 5, Lost 1, Scored 16, Conceded 8, Kept 4 Clean Sheets & have 17 pts.
2014/15 - Played 10 (5 home, 5 away), Won 4, Drawn 2, Lost 4, Scored 13, Conceded 14, Kept 3 Clean Sheets & have 14 pts.

EL:
2015/16 - Played 3 (1 home, 2 away), Won 1, Drawn 1, Lost 1, Scored 5, Conceded 4, Kept 0 Clean Sheets & have 4 pts.
2014/15 - Played 3 (2 home, 1 away), Won 1, Drawn 2, Lost 0, Scored 6, Conceded 2, Kept 1 Clean Sheet & have 5 pts.

In PL games played the Sunday after a EL game:
2015/16 - Played 3 (1 home, 2 away), Won 2, Drawn 1, Lost 0, Scored 8, Conceded 3, Kept 1 Clean Sheets & have 7 pts.
2014/15 - Played 3 (3 home, 0 away), Won 1, Drawn 0, Lost 2, Scored 2, Conceded 3, Kept 1 Clean Sheet & have 3 pts.

Despite our results in the EL, we seem to be coping with both competitions better, especially considering we have played less home games. We also have a much tougher EL group but are only 1 point worse off (in the EL) than this time last season, despite having played 2 away games rather than 1.

Obviously, this doesn't account for the difference in teams we played in the league and form of teams played but it's very encouraging, especially considering our general play has also noticeably improved.

Personally, I'm very happy with Poch and the club as a whole.

I'm seeing us develop further. Last season, although we finished 5th, was still a bit up and down, we let in tonnes of goals. We've stopped that so far, we will let in more goals, but we've tightened up.

We've lost once this year, although turning those draws into wins would be great, but overall, a huge improvement., a settled squad, a seemingly united team, we are very often quiet in the media (which is great).

next four games are huge, get through those in a decent position and it will really set us up for a good season in the league.

We are also doing well after a European game, something we've struggled with over the years.

Things are looking good, and I'm in full support of the manager and club.

I think we were second worse in the league last season I was certainly expecting us to do a lot better than that this season which we are doing so far. I wouldn't call our defence rock solid though, I'm not confident about us hanging on to a lead though. We need to concentrate for the whole game and try to keep the same intensity that we have when we play bigger teams when we play lesser teams.

I agree fella, but there is progress there, which I'm happy about.

Although I imagine those nerves have a bit to do with just being a Spurs fan ;-)

Absolutely I don't remember a time I wasn't nervous about spurs, I don't how my heart has survived it. :nailbiting:

The rot started before that. IIRC they thought he'd walk out when they sacked that guy who was his mate. Can't remember who it was now.

But to answer AYC, nah, I don't think he's (yet) the kind of name they would go for.

He is incredibly loyal. He is all very much about the long term and building a dynasty at a club. The reason hebwas appointed over other more qualified guys was because he wanted everything changed from the ground up. As long as he keeps getting backed he won't be going anywhere simple as that.

There are a few things in that article which are debatable, but I don't see the need to bring Sherwood and Redknapp into it they left a long time ago. I don't care what they are doing elsewhere.

That made me feel as proud as the little "deh plane...deh plane!!" fella in your avatar.

I've just seen Poch's pre match press conference on SSN where he explained why he has dropped Andros Townsend for his moment of indisclipine on Monday.

I am really impressed with how Poch is stamping his authority and sending out the message that no one is bigger than the club.

I can't quite figure out what it is exactly, but there is something that is inherently likable about Pochettino. Perhaps it's his humility or just his general demeanour but there is certainly something that makes him very easy to admire.
