OMG can't believe people fell for this, feel very bad now :(

All of you were talking about how great it was to be there and I felt left out and jealous, desperately wanted to be a part of it.

I don't think I will ever have the finances to visit WHL, that dream will go with me
I'm with you there. I watch pretty much EVERY game online, and have been Spurs since birth. But only seen them in the flesh a couple of times. Used to go to conference games instead, because of geography and cash. There's a subsection of season ticket holders that regard that as not being a 'real' fan...

The monied prawn sandwich brigade are clearly much more dedicated.

I'm not forgetting at all, but he's 24 by the way, he has performed no better than Naughton on the other side again apart from his half v Schalke.

It depends upon how we perform in front of him usually as to how Rose performs. Eriksen is not there any more so we are stronger thus he looks stronger. Everyone forgets that Rose was one of our best players in the early part of last season, i agree with that.
Fair enough, he must have only just turned 24 then? my point still stands though really. He's a young player and when he's fully fit he's good enough to play for spurs and he'll get better. I'd argue it's usually how we play in midfield that effects him most because he makes good runs a lot of the time that should be picked out but aren't, if our midfielders get their heads up he's a dangerous player but he needs the support of a proper winger as well like you say.

Judging him against Naughton isn't a great comparison tbh because Naughton has also done well in pre-season. I was his biggest critic and would have sold him for whatever we could get before pre-season but my mind has been changed by his good performances. It's a shame neither Draxler or Sam played yesterday as it would have been a good test of them both.

That time when he played so well has stuck in my mind. I find it hard to believe that Sandro can return to his pre-injury form because tearing your ACL is a big injury and players usually don't come back the same from it, but Rose's injury last season won't affect him long term so I always believed he had a good chance of recapturing that form he had at the beginning of last season and he's now showing good signs and improving with every match IMO

Accidental it seems. Have some pos rep to compensate.
Just been informed that you can PM people on here. I don't care about the rating I just wanted to know the reason, as it seemed strange. Sorry if my post pissed anyone off!

I was one of those that thought he was shocking last season, but I changed my opinion when it came to light that he'd carried injuries the entire time he was with us. I'm fine with people giving him a chance because he's shown he's a good player in the past, I just don't think he deserves more patience than anyone else. Although it's been against weaker opposition I'm fairly confident he'll do well this season because he's looking really sharp other than yesterday but I thought when he had the ball and was involved he did well. In the other friendlies he seemed to take the lead whereas he didn't do that yesterday. It's one bad game, no need for us to panic just yet. Can't wait for next Saturday to see how it's coming together against PL opposition!

He definitely doesn't deserve any more patience than anyone else, he is playing for his place and he needs to perform. Personally I don't have confidence, until I see Lamela performing well in the league, that goes for the whole team and Poch as a manager.

I only judge players and managers on what they do for us, everything that happened before doesn't matter.

Not had opportunity yet to post my opinion on the game, and should probably re-watch on TV before being confident in my comments.
Also, it was incredibly difficult to see how we were playing from the 3rd row! Couldn't see a shape or judge the distances between the players particularly well.
However...
a) Lamela - not impressed at all on Saturday. He wanted the ball (which is a plus) but did very little with it
b) Lennon - good to see him popping up in different positions on the pitch. Rather have his pace getting him into space in the middle than out wide when he can't deliver a cross
c) Dier - solid. A few moments of lapses of concentration, but on the whole he looks like a bargain signing.
d) We looked better in the second half with 2 up top.
e) Soldado needs to be moved on. There were chances he had where he should have taken on the shot, but confidence still so low that he looked to move the ball on.
f) We lack a "spark". All the good teams have that one special player who can change the game in an instant. I don't think the shape that Pochettino will use gets the best out of Eriksen, in which case we need to make that special signing.
g) I personally don't think we will trouble the top 4 sides.

Only seem to find 3min highlights on the interweb. And strangely nothing on SpursTV... why? Match at The Lane not filmed by any other UK media outlet (only highlights I've seen are in Romanian) and not on our own website.

Wonder why?

I wanted to see how Eric Dier played, how Holtby played etc.

Anyone else think Lennon and Sandro were looking leaner and meaner than usual? Sndro especially looks like he's a few pounds lighter.

There's a 10 minute highlight reel on spurs tv now mate. Definitely shows how much we dominated the game in terms of chances created!

Thought the Beast looked a bit lethargic and out of shape to be honest, he's only recovered from injury I think. Lennon has impressed pre season though, new lease of life under Poch.

You can catch up on the whole match on ITV Player for another 20-odd days.

I sneakily had it on for the first few hours of work today!

Yellow kit rocks!

Yeah, thanks! @thinktank was also helpful

Holtby looks good in the deeper CM role though I still think he perhaps prefers to be in and around the strikers. Holtby's preseason performances make Paulinho, Dembele and Bentaleb's places less assured. Which is good.

Dier didn't have a huge amount to do but seemed composed.

I still don't trust Holtby to be tactically disciplined enough in that role especially against the top teams, doesn't cover enough, charges around too much and doesn't have the patience yet, maybe we could get away with it against teams who sit back though.

Yeh, didn't think Sandro played well, but visibly looked lighter.
