Typical that I only spent time in this thread during the 1st half when it was morbid as fuck, completely unecessarily mind you.

2nd half was lovely viewing. Not gonna worry too much about the likes of Mason, Chadli and Son. We know what they can do. I always expected us to grow into the game. For me Tom Carroll doesn't have anywhere near enough about him to be here this season so hope he finds a more suitable club for himself.

- Lamela was glorious.
- Onomah looks more confident and wants the ball more. Some lovely play at times.
- Yedlin looks a different player, let's hope he can have the same sort of rise as Danny Rose after his season long loan at Sunderland.
- Harry Winks really stands out to me, hints of Luka Modric in his play. Could be amazing for us.
- Edwards will definitely get more game time, very excited about him.

All in all we should've drawn 2-2 with a decent Juve side. Very pleased with that performance (first 10-15 mins aside).

I wouldn't say he gets "hate" from fans. I have been one of his critics and it's only because he can do more. He is ridiculously talented but thus far in his career for us he hasn't been able to use that talent consistently.

He is showing signs of improving in that respect which is fantastic and if he keeps developing he will be eveything you say he is and more but until that point I think a number of people on this site get really carried away.

If the best he ever performed for us was last season he would leave the club as a disappointment. He needs to keep improving which I think he will. This could be a huge season for him and hopefully he succeeds and we reap the rewards.

Agree. A key player for us now for sure, but a bit of perspective is needed.

I just hope he never pisses Poch off and gets shown the door. Reckon there could be mass SC suicides.

Everyone needs to calm down slightly - Juve were playing at match pace the first 30, and friendly pace the 2nd half.

Onomah clearly at his best today as well when picking the ball deeper. Really want him to understudy Dembele, watch him and learn everything he can from him.

Edwards clearly has bags of talent, but is gonna need to toughen up, and learn when to release the ball. Hugely promising though.

Oh, and Lamela

Wanyama is going to have a similar impact Tony had last season. Granted it was one match and one play, but he carved them up like a Christmas Turkey. He will provide further coverage for our defenders, and I think he'll be tough to keep out of the XI. I don't know who he would replace though as Dembele is one of the biggest cogs and Dier is growing to be a huge player. Say what you will about our competition, with a healthy fit starting XI, it won't be easy to score against Spurs. I really look forward to the potential of a pure steel midfield of Wanyama, Dier and running Dembele in Alli's role to just burn teams out at the end of matches.

Tonight on the other hand is what you expect from 17-19 year olds, playing against a world class club. Not gonna overhype the youth, but Marcus Edwards looks to show some promise.

It won't come as a surprise to most, but it amazes me the impact and the results of nearly a completely revamped system at Spurs, which is financially so sound. The reality is we won't break the bank, and apparently we may not need to. Some may disagree, but for any manager to really have a full impact it takes 2-4 years. The whole staff has seen to set a foundation and a system where we have slowly created a brand of football for the club. Poch is the man for this club, and I truly hope he's here long enough to warrant a statue.

How do people come to these conclusions? I'm honestly at a loss here. This guy needs maximum coverage so that everybody knows what a fucking brain-dead moron he is.
Probably because they came to that conclusion during his first season, and now they're either too stubborn to consider the fact they judged him too early and were wrong, or....heaven forbid, they don't actually know what they're talking about.

Really want to see Winks more meaningfully involved this season, think he's hugely underrated, and could become a very good player.

Think he made one error when he received a pass of the cb and scuffed his back pass but other than that I really liked what I saw, very assured on the ball and crisp forward passing.

Looks a bit bigger as well. He could put Mason under some real pressure.

Tended to overplay second half but actually carved a couple of good chances last ten probably deserved a draw in the end. Lamela came on and changed the flow of the game being willing to take people on. Chadli Mason and Carroll all looked very poor....not a good sign for them if they are intending to break back into the starting eleven. Wanyama will be a similar lynchpin to Dier

Wrong.

We were useless little slugs in the first 30 and the best team in the world in the second half.

Fact*

*fact may actually be complete horsehit based on general over-reaction to a friendly match
