Also on an added note, great performance from our youth against what was tough opposition, I think we would have won that game if we had another 20 mins, we deserved a draw at the very least.

Lamlela though, unbelievable player also I remember Rose saying how Lamela was the one saying we could win the league, you could see whenever he wasn't in the team we lacked pressing and forward player last season, he is key to us, just as important as Kane in my opinion, you can see the confidence coming out of him.

I only watched the second half, just seen our youngsters + Lamela and Wanyama beat Juve.

Well in the end that was very encouraging

A real shame not to see Janssen with Lamela for too long, as I think he may have ended up with a couple of chances

The fact Lamela still gets hate from sections of our fans is a joke.

Ridiculous;y crucial to us

I wouldn't say he gets "hate" from fans. I have been one of his critics and it's only because he can do more. He is ridiculously talented but thus far in his career for us he hasn't been able to use that talent consistently.

He is showing signs of improving in that respect which is fantastic and if he keeps developing he will be eveything you say he is and more but until that point I think a number of people on this site get really carried away.

If the best he ever performed for us was last season he would leave the club as a disappointment. He needs to keep improving which I think he will. This could be a huge season for him and hopefully he succeeds and we reap the rewards.

We looked better with our 18 year olds on the pitch in the second half rather than Mason Chadli and Carroll.

And Wanyama is a fit bastard.

Only caught the last 20 minutes but what I saw was extremely impressive. Lots of good control in tight spaces, excellent interchanging and good energy to win the ball back.

Now, I can't comment on the likes of Chadli, but going on what others have said he should be at serious risk of losing his positio,n as even a substitute.

This could be a monstrous season for Lamela, he controlled our tempo and was involved in everything good going forward. This is really promising, feel like he has fully matured and rises to every challenge.

Impressed with Winks who looks like he has got much more about him than Carroll.

Edwards did really well and I'm looking forward to seeing some of our other young lads get a further run out.

Not going to write anyone off because of a friendly, but if I'm allowed to read too much into it I think that we should be smart and get rid of Chadli and Mason as it seems like there are plenty of players availaible that can do what Mason does and Chadli, while he is a good player, is just too fucking frustrating whenever he goes missing.
Think Tommy may have to move on as well. I'd keep pritchard and move tommy on (tough call as have always loved TC)

Thoughts:

-Lamela could turn out an absolute monster next season
-Edwards needs to be playing more for us, quite obviously
-Wanyama was pretty good but I worry about his mobility slightly when under pressure
-Harrison looks capable as 3rd choice
-Winks talented but a bit sloppy at times, showed Mason up though
-Unsure on Ball, pretty elementary mistakes for both goals but perhaps needs another couple of games before we decide
-CCV a bit nervous to begin with but grew into the game massively, needs time
-Walkes should be tried at CM, similarly Onomah
-If Carroll is ever going to feature for us it can never ever be at CM and must be further forward
-Yedlin much improved, Tripper not convincing
-Chadli was fucking dreadful, similarly Son
-Miller better than I thought he would be, but not a LB

On the other hand Chadli was anonymous and ineffectual.

Can't fathom why Poch would want to keep hold of him, has to be putting him in the shop window.

Would hope the same for Carroll/Mason.

Free the way for Onomah/Winks/Edwards

I think it's a little concerning that of all the players to play our so called senior players in Chadli and Son looked the most disinterested. We had a lot more energy when the likes of Lamela, Onomaha, Winks and Edwards replaced those two and Mason.

Lamela should have scored the 2nd, straight at the keeper, otherwise the team looked different with him on, quality player.

Yeah, if we're able to get fair value for him I wouldn't be against that at all.

The money we should generate from these sales could be enough to get a player that would improve our first XI.

Cant even use the pre-season excuse because this is how they turn out during the season (maybe less so son, but hes equally as frustrating)
