If City dont finish top-4, Hughes will be looking for a job. He may not even make it to the Spring depending on the results.

teams on paper don't matter. there are too many factors that could come into play, we can only do the best we can and try to win every game.

we'll only know who's better at the end of the season, it's pointless to speculate right now.

Ask City fans how many Spurs players would start for them. Most of them would respond: 1-2 or even 0. They certainly wouldn't agree that Spurs defenders are better. Most fans tend to overrate their players.

I know three who would, and do.

thier GK probably. our CB's and RB ... and LB (don't rate bridge)... although i'd try to find a place for Micah Richard eventually. Modric and Palacios would get in the side. I expect SWP over Lennon although that gap is narrowing year on year. I wouldn't have Tevez... he was a utd sub and utd CHOSE not to buy him for a reason. Barry in the centre with Palacios. Modric left and SWP on the right. Robhino and Defoe upfront.

ALthough lets face it if we had Citys money and wages we'd have bought some higher grade players. Thier star players are Utd and Madrid Bench warmers

So you don't think Ireland is better than Barry? Surely Adebayour and Defoe up front?

I can't see this SWP over Lennon these days, I think that was reversed quite a while ago!

Got to have a go at those who believe Robinho is better than Modric!

Robinho does have skill and pace, but Modric is the complete package. Movement, tactical awareness, passing, work ethic, profesionalism and guts.

Ferguson came out in praise of Modric, and he could have easily purchased Robinho last summer (undeed Robinho thought he had), which I believe shows to some extent what an absolute gem Modric is.

Robinho might have the better youtube videos, but over 90 minutes, game after game, Modric is the man!

Manchester City have paid way over the odds for players. The 20 plus for Lescott for example is just laughable. King and Woodgate would waltz into their back line.
It's testament to the club that their best player is Ireland, but personallly I would only take Given and Ireland over our players and even Given vs Gomes I think is pretty close.

I would love to have Given, Ireland, Adebayor, Tevez, Barry, and Robinho here. Ireland is the best player outside the big 4 imo. Let's not forget Shitty were the 5th highest scorers last season, whereas we were 8th, and this summer they've added a ton of firepower.

Then again, I don't think it's fair to judge any of our players until the end of this season. Last season we were still settling in to a new team and new manager, this season hopefully we will improve and play with confidence.

So, they have barely seen Lescott and Toure playing in a City shirt but already think that they are worse than Spurs CBs. Well, I don't belive it SS57.

They know Charlie well and may rate him higher than Richards, I don't know, but I doubt that they would think the same about their CBs and LBs given that even Capello seems to rate Lescott over Woody, King's ability to stay fit for longer periods is questionable and Ekotto is hardly seen as definitely better than Bridge among non-Spurs fans.

I think you are very foolish to not consider Woody one of our first choice XI, statistically in terms of headers won, tackles made, he was one of the top 3 centre halves in the league last year. Bassong has made a good start, but Woody is the superior player.

Where do you get your stats from mate?

"if i wasnt a footballer I would have been a gangster" is what he said in yesterdays NotW

For God's sake!

Why do they have to have seen him in a City shirt to reach the obvious conclusion that King is far and away better. I haven't seen Gary Doherty in a Barcelona shirt but can tell you that he wouldn't be better than Carles Puyol. King is in a different world to Toure and Lescott/Woodgate is a judgment call.

Taking away all the individual comparisons, I don't really care. If, and it isn't certain, they finish above us it will be bought, nothing more. They couldn't grow organic vegetables there let alone an organic team. All we can do is continue what we are doing see where we end up.

I'd be interested to know what many City fans think of their whole situation. I read one famous fan, forget who, that was very down about how they have gone about signing players and then Ricky Hatton who has jubilant- that probably had a lot to do with the knocks Pacquiao gave him a few months back.

You're welcome to believe or disbelieve as you wish.

They think Bridge is shite. As you would, because he is. Judgement reserved on Touré and the Klingon.

.

I saw the same stats last week on sky sports Coyboy, they were comparing the stats of Lescott and Terry, for obvious reasons, and in the Headers, tackles and passing, (I think) Woody was in the top 5 for all of them, and was no.1 in heading, which surprised me.

Doesn't surprise me...Woody & King when both fit are our first choice centre backs until bassong has played more than 3 games!!

People have short memories here. Woody was immense last season!!
