If the scum are going to get circa £30m for Cesc, then they may (for the first time ever) splash some cash in the market. I really hope we can sign someone before they start pinching our targets.

To be honest 30 million odd for Fabregas sounds ridiculously cheap in this market. Same price as Carroll? Bonkers.

No - cheaper than Carroll in fact. He went for £35m.

Today from L'Equipe (again) the big ones are:

Malouda is being offered to AC Milan, Inter and Roma by Chelsea.

Arsenal are after Jeremy Menez from Roma

Marseille are looking to snap up Mahamadou Diarra on a free after his contract has expired

PSG are looking at Moussa Sissoko

Real Madrid are looking at Maicon (again) but Inter want Sergio Ramos in exchange. Real are ready to give them Marcelo.

Roma's Mirko Vucinic is being considered by Juve (well, they've been linked with everyone this window)

Newcastle are after Blaise Matuidi, an old recommendation of SK and have been told he'll cost them €15m.

Kaka, Negredo and Forlan do not want to move clubs this summer.

neymars agent denied it.

notice what fabregas said to catalan media today very different to what he said in madrid and in english media.

sport said almost what I have stated, but said bojan or sergi roberto neither of who want to go to arsenil
arsenil are messing about and have asked for mascherano.

To be fair s&b arsenal are entitled to mess about. They own his contract and just because barca are interested it doesn't mean they get to have things alk their way. They push around smaller European clubs because most players have their head turned by barca, but they shouldn't be able to do it with an elite English side for easily their best player. I hope we mess about in the same way any time any bigger club comes for modric.

In any case this isn't the speculative barca link thread, its for actual world transfers.

I'd be very surprised if that list was accurate. Where are Ben Alnwick, Jake Livermore, Oscar Jansson, Jonathan Obika etc?

Remember when we were clamouring for Spurs to sign Giles Barnes? What on earth happened to him?

Think he ruptured his knee or something while at Derby and didn't play for 18 months or so.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giles_Barnes

After [the play-off final victory] it was found out that Barnes was playing with a broken foot and he missed all of the summer injured as Derby prepared for life back in the top flight.
These injuries carried over into the start of Derby's disastrous 2007–08 season.
The injuries that plagued Barnes through the course of his season, as well as no pre season and being put in the team 2 months earlier than was recommended, affected his form and he failed to play as vital a role in Derby's season as he had during 2006–07 and his season ended early when it was discovered he had a knee injury which required major surgery,[14] meaning that he would miss the remainder of the 2007–08 season and the start of 2008–09.
Barnes returned to Derby but sustained another injury in a pre-season friendly against Stoke City after a two footed lunge

In other words, he's the unluckiest player on the planet.

Is he bollocks, the guy is so arrogant its unbelievable, most derby fans don't like him either, spent more time at the clubs thinking he the best thing since slice bread than recovering and when he did put on a derby shirt he hardly perform until a big team came and then his demands were insane

Trust me I could be all day writing about bad attitude

Malaga fans must be going mad! Not only a fun time Friday signing, but a DOUBLE fun time Friday signing... :hump:

Jeremy Toulalan and Joris Mathijsen

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11800_6993922,00.html

Didn't realist Toulalan was only 27? Remember seeing him for France and thinking he would be a useful player for us. Anyone seem him recently care to comment on how he's doing?

Fuck a duck! Eek

Speculation Toulalan was around €10m - fantastic signing, and even better if that price is accurate.

Gutted we didn't go for him actually. Can you imagine Toulalan and Sandro shielding? It could have been a thing of beauty :-(
