The point being Hugo and nasri don't get on.

Hugo blames him for the toxic atmosphere in the French national team at the time.

Mata is still class and, if he could be got for a fee that reflects his age, would be an excellent addition.

Nasri told L’Equipe 21: “I had confirmation from a reporter that he [Lloris] had been to see Didier Deschamps, sent by three players apparently, to ask him to exclude me from the squad after the World Cup play-off game against Ukraine [last November].

That made me laugh..............maybe it was Neil Eatson :D:D:D

Mata would be a nice option to have against the 'bus parkers'. Forsu Mensa looks like he has loads of potential.

Bony
Mangala
Nasri

Bastian
Mata
Rojo
Blind
Bony- No
Mangala- Shit
Nasri- Lol

Schweinsteiger- Won't have the legs for our system
Mata- Too old, and questions about his work rate
Rojo- Average
Blind- Probably above Poch's preferred age range- and he's more of a defensive midfielder and we now have 2 of them. Would have been a good signing a couple of years ago though.

Mangala started out incredibly poor, but he looked a heck of a lot better on his return from injury.

I think people have the Lamela impression about him, where he started poor so now everyone just assumes he's a flop because they haven't payed attention to him recently.

Haven't paid much attention to Mangala, but what you've posted is what I think of Otamendi

Too old sounds like a daft label for someone who turned 28 only a few months ago, but I guess it would come up when evaluating the price tag. Oh and he covers more ground per game than any other United player behind only Schneiderlin I think

Very misleading stat that, I remember when they focused on Yaya Toure covering more ground in the Manc derby and he ran the most out of anyone but if you analysed it he was jogging I'm the spot more than anything which was essentially clocking up his mileage, real eye opener...Also it's a feature of no10s who run the most as they are always trying to find space and are constantly on the move, doesn't mesn they track back though.

The traditional, in-the-hole no10 doesn't feature in the top 10 aside from Eriksen though. If that was the case, wouldn't you expect to find someone like Coutinho, Firmino, Sigurdsson, Oscar, Ozil, Bojan, Barkley, Payet etc in there? (and I'm fairly confident Mata "outruns" them all, but admitedly can't prove it as the data isn't available). I do agree anyway that it is a flawed stat.

I just think Mata gets a bit of undeserved stick by people saying he's lazy. Whatever you think of Van Gaal, he demands a lot of effort from his players, and Mata was a player he respected and even made captain at some point. I just always believed he could've fit in a team like ours and influence positively without needing to be carried.

I don't think Mata is lazy though and since he was bombed by Mourinho he's actually picked up and worked a lot harder, I think when you compare him with Willian for example the latter is someone who you'd want in your team, certainly at Spurs anyway. I just think that's it's utterley pointless having an Mata if you already have an Eriksen who in my mind has a higher ceiling and will turn out to be a player than Mata regardless.

From Pochettino's perspective, Mata would be too old.

I have my doubts on how much eriksen will improve but i do agree there is no point in mata while we have him

From Pochettino's perspective, Mata would be too old.

If we were in need of a #10 and it made sense financially i dont think even pochettino would just pass up without considering. Moot point anyway

We need players who are good enough to replace or rotate so I'd take Mata but his price/wages would have to reflect this.

Unfortunately United and Juan would want far more than we would, and should, offer.

Nasri would be great for us but he has poor mentality. so not gonna happen or fit in our team.

Will take bastian just to add experience in our squad...

We're still too nice. Will take Bastian only if he promises to be a bastard to the opposition.
