My understanding is that Belhanda is kind of Dembele like. Not sure he is exactly what we need. Though what a physical midfield three that would be once Sandro returns.

I think he is a hybrid of Dembele and a creative mid....which, in our set-up, is just what we need. Again they overlap, but they can cover each other and complement each other when needed....Sandro, Dembele, Belhanda..WOW.

Good age, athleticism and skills (I was led to believe he is more attack minded but doesn't shirk on his defensive duties either), knows where the goal is, and his club are open to selling him, meaning the price won't be unreasonable.

As part of a midfield 3 alongside Sandro and Dembele, that would be immense. Sandro the beast at the heart of the three, with Dembele and Belhanda to the left and right respectively, (left and right footed respectively too), gives us great balance, drive, energy and skills.

No brainer.

I agree Belhanda is a very interesting prospect, but is he the playmaker we need?

Well I think he has the versatility that makes him a good player to fit as the more advanced cm in a 4/3/3 and play as the am in a 4/2/3/1 but has enough pace and ability to play wider and he has shown in the last couple of seasons that he can both create and score decent numbers

Is he as good as say Pastore or Isco for example-probably not, but apart from the fact we are unlikely to get either both are arguably less versatile

I'd love us to try for Iker Muniain, he has struggled this season at Bilbao although that's as much down to Bilbao's struggles and some of their managers curious selections and tactics, but I think he is still going to be a top player, but even with a season where he didn't progress as expected I imagine there are still plenty of clubs who would want him should Bilbao want to cash in and he wouldn't be cheap

Yes, Pleaseeeee! Iker Munaian is a player we should get NOW. Adding to that PEA and/or Ince, we should be covered in the wings/forwards for years to come. Munaian/Ince for LW and PEA/Lennon/Townsend(sell?) for RW.

I think Munain could be very good, but I think with the price tag he would command, we'd be wanting more in the goal/assist output.

If we wanted a similar player, Alan Dzagoev would be my choice by a long shot.

Further, it's true we need a creative player, but, say among Sandro, Belhanda, and Dembele, they can collectively provide that creative spark for our blazing fast forwards.

Dzagoev is a great player but for whatever reason very few Russians have succeeded over here IMO . Also guessing cska would want 20m plus for him

I'd be smitten with Belhanda. He and Dembele sitting in front of Sandro would be unreal. Strength on the ball, the ability to crack open defenses with their dribbling and Belhanda's got a great eye for the through ball. His weight on passes sometimes is just a sight.

He's ready for a bigger stage, and with the price being as low as it appears to be, adding him would be a fantastic, Levy-esque move.

I know there's a history of the Russian failures, but I just don't like to pigeon-hole other players because of the ones before them.

Also, Dzagoev and Munain are going to be of similar value, which was sort of what I was trying to convey with Dzagoev over Muniain. Dzagoev could play across the three behind the striker, which AVB has shown to love in a player.

Surely Belhanda and Dembele would be more attacking after time though. Thus later we can get more steel in the form of M'Villa to back Sandro. Belhanda, Dembele, Sandro, and M'Villa would make us a dynamic fortress of steel.

I'm personally hoping for Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton. One of the few players who plays similar to Sandro. When Sandro was healthy, Schneiderlin was one of the only midfielders that was anywhere near Sandro in defensive stats.

Quality requires sacrifice, either monetary or time-wise; end of. Iker Munaian's price would be high of course. But, knowing players like him, such as James Rodriguez, are rare to find cause a rich club buys them, Levy should do the impossible to get this scarce gem.

One of the best penalty takers in world football just now as well. He would've been very useful tucking away every single one of the zero penalties we got this season. Could've been the difference between 4th and 5th ;)

Then sit Son/PEA, Damiao and Bale infront of Sandro, Belhanda and Dembele. Pace, power, craft and graft, what more could you want?

Montpellier playmaker Younes Belhanda has reiterated his desire to secure a summer switch to England or Germany.
The Morocco international has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, with north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal said to be keen.
They could be about to scrap it out for his signature, with Belhanda of the opinion that he needs to take on a new challenge.
The 23-year-old is under contract in France until 2015, but he claims interest in his services is steadily mounting.
Belhanda told L'Equipe: "Next season? I don't know. I have contacts but nothing concrete.
"I want to go to England or Germany. I believe I am made for that football, both physical and technical with a lot of risks.
"My wish is to play in the Champions League next season, but I could sign for a club with big history.
"I will not learn anything else in France. I know how we play here. I need a new mentality, new excitement."

We would have the most physically imposing midfield three if he lined up with Sandro and Dembele.
