Too much to read.
i get that he makes a lot of passes, but that's because he's always passing backwards.

Comolli bought him as a LB who could also play in midfield. This was why I wondered—nearly a year ago—why we hadn't tried him there. Several other people wondered the same at the time. Bubble's name springs to mind; yours doesn't. As I said above, I assume the reason we didn't was that Jol decided Malbranque would do a better job. Nothing to do with coaches, just the coach.
You've convinced me of nothing except that you're totally barking.
You laughed at me and told me that he was a DEFENDER. Until someone showed you a quote from Comolli that stated he can also play on the wing.
You have some serious issues. So now you act as if you knew all along that he would have been best positioned on the wing?
You were the one forcing the Comolli quote of him being the best potential left back in France remember? (Even though he didn't mention left back) To disprove my point that he should have played on the left of midfield before Bale came.
(Yoda voice) "Short memory you have."
Actually, I posted the quotation from Comolli that said he can play as a midfielder. In English and in French. Here it is again, in English only. You will see that he does mention left-back. Not only does he mention left-back, he mentions it first.
“Benoit is a young, extremely talented left-back. He's versatile and can play in three positions – left-back, on the left side of central midfield and left midfield. He will give Martin lots of flexibility on that flank."
No, I didn't say I knew all along that he would be best positioned on the wing. I said I was one of several people who wondered why Jol didn't try him there. Do you understand the difference between the two statements? It really isn't that difficult to figure out. It shouldn't be beyond the compass of a moderately bright twelve-year-old, so for a jet-setting computer whizz it should be a piece of cake.
