I Wonder if the club have arranged a behind the doors friendly, for some point next week? A chance for the WC players to get a game before the season starts.

Tbf we have a number of full sized replica pitches and enough players in our various squads to play plenty of 90 min matches. I suspect this has been happening for the WC players.

It is not so much about fitness as sharpness, you only get that from playing games. Besides how does Poch know his tactics are bedding in if he does not test them in a game with some intensity?

If daws has to play I'm glad it's against a team like west ham who will play to his strengths by pumping high balls into the box

No it's pretty strange, but it's probably less about fitness and more that maybe they haven't spent enough time training in the new system so that adding a few in piecemeal could disrupt the team performance.

For the love of god please dont tell me we are going to start Brad Friedel and Michael Dawson FFS!!! I love them as professionals but they should be nowhere near our 1st 11. Vertonghen should atleast get game time in preperation for westham as should Lloris/Vorm. I bet we start with fucking Dawson and Brad against the spammers
