Sell Livermore. Not good enough for us. Hudd will probably leave as well and with the £ we'll get from the (and the inevitable sales of Bentley, Jenas and Gomes), use that to buy at least one new quality CM, if not two.
This needs to be rectified ASAP in January.
Livermore not even good enough for the bench for me, let alone start. Got to bring in two new CMs for more strength in depth.
Adebayor was immense. Wish he would play like this every week.
Electric pace, great skill, hold up play and a great focal point for our attacking play.
:-)
Brilliant - and very true.
In answer to the OP's original question - no. He is a great influence on the team, commanding in the box, excellent at decision-making and has made countless top saves this season.
Maybe a one or two season stop gap but very happy to see his name on the team...
Much much better during the game yesterday.
Let's hope they continue that for the rest of the season...could be the difference between Champions League and Europa.
I actually rate Ryan Nelsen quite highly. And he's a good down-to-earth bloke, who has a big influence in Blackburn and helped inspire NZ to do better than most thought in World Cup.
And on the latter point, the deal would be very good commercially as takes us into Antipodoean market...
If Sandro is fit, he starts ahead of Lennon for me. So this time we would have 2 defensive midfielders in him and Parker - 2 more than we had line up in the hammering in August.
Kaboul ahead of Dawson for me simply to deal with pace of Aguero which Daws struggled with last time.
Decent 5th choice central midfielder - loan move to a Norwich/QPR type club would be a good move for everyone concerned.
Even though he was more of a natural replacement for Parker than Pienaar or Kranjcar, I'm puzzled as to why he was the preferred option of the three. The other 2 are superior...
One of the best days of results in other games for us this season.
But will only really make a difference if we can win tomorrow...hope this gives them the inspiration to go and do it!
If Modders does play on the right, will be interesting to see how Cashley adapts.
He's used to playing against pace which he's well equipped to do but with someone as silky and possessing a great footballing brain in Luka, it could be an interesting dual.
Particularly when Kyle joins in on...
Would be disappointed with a point when I think we all really feel we can win.
Having said that, it's always tight - last season we just got away with it when Gomes made up for his error.
Shame Lennon is out as he usually does well against them but we still have the players in all departments...
Strongly agree!
Exactly what we need.
Rotate him with Lennon and we can get the best out of both of them.
Would be difficult to juggle but the way I see it, when we lose Bale and Lennon (a la Sunderland game), we struggle without pacey players.
Johnson is an absolute top quality player -...
Kane will really benefit from a loan - good propsect but just needs more top(ish) level game time. If we can get him a stint at a Championship side, that could be the making of him.
Livermore, Rose and Townsend have proved they are good back-up squad players - definitely need them around...
Team picks itself - Bale should be fit but I think Ledley is more of the concern. Can he play a second game in four days? Hopefully the answer is yes (after a dozen painkiller injections!)
If Sandro plays as he did vs Chelsea away last season, this will be a great asset for us in the midfield.
United definitely more likely to drop points though still expect them to win. City will win comfortably (unfortunately).
Arsenal will also beat Villa who look woeful at the moment.
So we will really need to beat Chelski tomorrow in order to keep up with the runners.
Not one of his better games but his ability to score or create out of nothing means he gets extra game time in Harry's mind.
I feel in this particular game (Stoke), he should have been brought off for Defoe as opposed to Lennon.
This was one game where we needed as much pace as possible...
