Eriksen doesn't look with it yet and I hope Soldado bucks his ideas up as I thought he was horrible yesterday.
He isn't a wide man, we looked better when they swapped over and Lamela went wide.

One good performance? Really? He's done well all pre-season. I'm done with this argument cause some of you seriously can't see how much better he's been this pre-season. Lamela gets so much rope it's ridiculous yet people aren't willing to give others a chance at allOne good performance, the rest have been the average performances you expect from anyone.
Maybe not, but for me he was MOM
I watched the game again this morning and he created 4 great chances with sublime balls.
Huff and puff is all well and good but its class that win games
Eriksen is a matchwinner.

What's your idea of competent? Because I think he's been more than competent. He's played like a top 6 standard LB this pre-season, whereas he played like a bottom half one last season after he came back from injury. I haven't singled him out for praise at all, but he's done as well as any of our other players this pre-season. He's defended very well all pre-season, if anything it's been his attacking play that's let him down but that's always the hardest part and last thing to click properly. He's been better than Davies by quite a bit, in my opinion, so I don't see why people are still reluctant to give him praise for his good performances, because as things stand he's the best we have at LB. We have a new manager, it's a fresh start for all of our players, try and forget last season and give him the benefit of the doubt like many have with Lamela and Soldado. I don't understand the logic that they deserve so much more of a chance than Rose does. I know they are more proven elsewhere but I only care about what they've done in a spurs shirt tbhHe's done no more than you expect a competent left-back to do, no more than anyone else would or has done in pre-season until yesterday when he was the MOM in the first half.
There were at least 2 Indian Spurs fans at Schalke game, still waiting for my chance

You're forgetting that hes 23 though, how many players look like top 4 players at that age? I would say a very small amount, especially fullbacks as in the modern game it's a very demanding position to play. He's been our best LB this pre-season, saying it was only for 45 minutes is just hyperbole. He's done far more both in defence and attack than Davies has taking all the matches into account. I'm desperate for us to have a decent LB and I think we already have one in Rose. He played how he did yesterday before his injury last season, this is his level when he's fully fit and confident. I think he's going to continue to perform this way until he either gets injured or needs a rest and then Davies will be a capable deputy, we're lucky we have both of them because they both have great potentialA top 6 left back is how he should be playing anyway so he has just done what he should be doing, when you say top 6 though you actually mean 5th or 6th. Top 4 is up a bit more. Competent is 5th or 6th level, thats what any left back playing for us should be at. Thats all he has done, apart from, as I say yesterday.
You are simply desperate for praise for him so are going over the top in his defence, exactly what has he done in all these pre-season games that another competent left-back can't do? Nothing.
All he has done is play at a level he should be at anyway. He didn't play better than Davies against Celtic for instance, they both just did their job.
Their is praise and their is going over the top. He deserved praise yesterday he got it, perform like that, he'll get it, don't and he won't. He showed what he has in him so previous games show he has not been at that level. As things stand he has been our best left back for 45 minutes and the same anyone else prior to that.
Sorry to take this off topic but that girl actually plays for our ladies team.

really? they all must've been on their summer holidays then as the past few weeks i'd say the rose for and against ratio was somewhere around 1:99.
I was one of those that thought he was shocking last season, but I changed my opinion when it came to light that he'd carried injuries the entire time he was with us. I'm fine with people giving him a chance because he's shown he's a good player in the past, I just don't think he deserves more patience than anyone else. Although it's been against weaker opposition I'm fairly confident he'll do well this season because he's looking really sharp other than yesterday but I thought when he had the ball and was involved he did well. In the other friendlies he seemed to take the lead whereas he didn't do that yesterday. It's one bad game, no need for us to panic just yet. Can't wait for next Saturday to see how it's coming together against PL opposition!I was a big critic of Lamela last season, and in pre-season he has looked much better.
Unfortunately it's been against quite poor opposition, he needs a couple of months of competitive football before we can see if he has improved.
Capoue could be a breakthrough player. Bentaleb looked rusty yesterday. He was much more adventurous with his passing last term.Capoue and Holtby would offer us more creativity going forward, which is what we are going to need to break down Allardyce's back-line. Can anyone point out a single key pass that Bentaleb made yesterday? People seem to have branded him some sort of high level metronome, but sweeping the ball side to side and backwards 60 yards away from goal doesn't make you a tempo-setter at the highest level.
Spurs: Lloris, Naughton, Kaboul (Fryers 79), Dier, Rose (Davies 46), Holtby (Ceballos 84), Bentaleb (Carroll 74), Lennon (Townsend 46), Eriksen (Sandro 67), Lamela (Kane 46), Adebayor (Soldado 46). Substitutes (not used): Friedel, Veljkovic, Fredericks. Why wasn't Capoue in the squad yesterday? anybody know? Was expecting him to make the eleven against Wet Spam..
Maybe or maybe not he is injured? There will probably be a Spurs XI game or behind closed doors game and we can then find out at least who is fit.Doesnt say why though :/
