Apparently loads of tickets are floating about for this...

Wonder how many we're taking up to Boro...

Important game with city being our next pl after! Put another 3 points on the tally andwe can really go for it v city and it will be a real fire cracker. Drop points v boro and suddenly were fighting to regain momentum against very tough oposition!

Does Eriksen play CM ?
Does Winks play AM ?

If no is answer for both, then why are you comparing them ?

I am seeing CM as a specialized position. If Dembele or Dier is out, I want to see a proper CM there. I dont want shift Alli, because we need a player to make runs beyond Janssen. Only Alli does this so well.

Just because Eriksen is a bigger name than Winks or more experienced (in a different position), doesnt mean we have to sacrifice the team balance. We did that against Monaco & suffered.

The short answer is - because Alli can play CM - i mean even Sissoko is probaly ahead of Winks in the CM position.

I'm afraid Poch don't care what you think - he won't play Winks away at Middlesbrough in the PL for his first start. Not that difficult a match - at home vs. West Brom maybe.

You do know that Pochettino gave Ryan Mason his PL debut against Arsenal at Emirtaes ???

I would bet Winks is ahead of Sissoko at CM role, every single time.
If Dier or Dembele is out, its between Winks or Alli.

Remember seeing Spurs take on 'Boro a few years ago in Middlesborough. Stayed in Robin Hood's Bay the night before. Can't remember much about the match except Assou-Ekotto giving up and turning away after a failed tackle. This was before his big injury. I had no time for him after that. After his return from injury he was a changed player and became one of my favourite players for Spurs. I think there's a pub close by called the White Hart. Am I right - or is my memory playing tricks?

I really like the Middlesborough team. Ayala is a rock in defence (when not injured) and think Fischer is a real talent in attack - except he hasn't shown much so far this season. Hope he doesn't turn it on against us. Friend and Gibson have been getting good reviews for their play in defence so far. Should be an interesting game. COYS.

Pub - used to be but not sure if it's still there. I live about 6 miles outside of the town centre in the nice area... other than work I don't spend much time in the town centre/area around the ground.

Right after his performance in a cup game if memory serves correct.

Team V Boro if everyone is fit.

Lloris, Walker, Davies, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dier, Winks, Lamela, Alli, Son and Janssen.

I think we should rest Dembele and Rose for the CL fixture. Reward Winks with a start after his impressive display against Gillingham, give Wanyama a rest plus I think Wink with Dier/Wanyama offer a better balance than Dier and Wanyama.

I know it's a game that we shouldn't risk but I personally don't think it will be as I feel the lad has the maturity to play that role.

Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Wanyama Dembele
Sissoko Eriksen Son

Vorm Davies Dier Winks Alli Edwards Lamela
If Rose, Dembele and Dier don't make it, I'd go:

Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Davies
Wanyama Winks
Sissoko Eriksen Son
Janssen

Vorm Trippier Wimmer Onomah Alli Edwards Lamela

It's what we do it for but 3 massive games this week. We need to win the games we are expected to win like the top sides do. This is the sort of match that 3/4 years ago we would drop points. Let's keep showing the character we did last season.

That said, rotation is essential today. The first game loss against Monaco means CSKA is a must win game now. It's on paper our easiest away game and our away form in Europe recently has been... Shady, at best.

Lloris
Trippier Alderwiereld Vertonghen Davies
Wanyama Winks
Sissoko Alli Son
Janssen

Wouldn't risk Dier, Walker, Rose or Dembele for this one. It's incredible and a testament to Poch to think that they could step out of that side and still have a line up that on paper is better than 3/4 of lineups in the league

Can someone explain the source/evidence that Sissoko can play centrally? Everything I've seen from him in the last year suggests hes plays wide right so I don't know why people keep suggesting he might play as a CM.

Zero evidence. He doesn't play there.

Actually think this is a banana skin for us and a massive test of our squad. Looks like we could be going in with Rose, Dier, Dembele and Kane all missing.

It's been done to death to be honest mate. Sissoko plays amr or am but half the people on this site see him as a dembele backup.
I maybe wrong but unless we have a injury crisis or chasing a goal late on in the game sissoko is always going to play amr or am

Sissoko is in no way, shape or form a Dembele backup.

I think Sissoko himself said he likes to play as a number 8 so by definition that would be a central midfielder or box to box midfielder.
