Levy should accept the £20 million and lets get on with the season, but what have we got lined up to replace him?

no chance!!! that's what whisky nose wants! let's keep him out of football and if his attitude isn't right as in yesterday's then fine him his wages on a rolling basis. to capitulate now is to watch this scenario be repeated whenever anyone fancies a move! he shouldn't receive a single penny from us until his attitude totally changes.

I'm really in two minds over this - part of me just wants rid so we can get a replacement no.9 in to partner Bent and get a strike partnership going.

The other is thinking Man U are kinda bullying us into letting go for £25 mil when we've been asking for £30 mil all along - suppose that's how they work even though they can probably afford the fee (although Zenit could have said the same about us at one point).

Is it worth keeping him? I dont know. It seems that JR is fed up with him, so I think he would prefer to sell him.

If eh does stay we still need at least one more striker to play when Berbatov is throwing a moody

I agree with Robin. I was expecting to see Berbatov in the starting XI yesterday and to find out he is not in the squad leaves a bitter aftertaste after the performance he put in for Bulgaria in midweek.

Watching Skys latest advert for the Worthington Cup also riles me...and Keane celebrating yesterday with Carragher and Gerrard. It stinks.

If we cave in to United then it will be the same story when they decide they want Bale or Modric of whoever, they will whisper in their ear to pull a moody and get them on the cheap..

Agreed. As things stand I'd love for us to publicly tell Manure the price for him is £30m for them and £20-25m for anyone else.

And going forwards I think we should seriously consider cutting off relations with clubs that fuck us over. Manure and Pool won't sell players to each other, so why should we? They ride roughshod over everyone and unless we make a stand this Berba debacle will happen time and time again.

I would love us to refuse to sell to Man U.

They could force Heinze to move to Madrid when he publicly stated he wished to play for Liverpool.

I would be very happy with our board with the were willing to swollow £5m or so to force Berbatov to move to Madrid or Barcelona.

If he moves to Man U, then by all means call me petty but I will seriously hope he is a total flop and they win fuck all.

Yeah i couldn't agree more but i think he would still prefer a move to United over Barca. He has become a real pain in the backside plus his attitude is disgraceful.I wonder how Fergie will deal with him when he throws a tantrum up there.

But if our board stood firm and were prepared to recieve less money from abroad (assuming there would be offers) Berbatov would be left with the option of moving to a top european team or staying with us....trust me he would be off and annousing it as his dream move.

If we are in the financial position to do so, I'd love us to offer Berba a choice...

Rot in the reserves for another two years until your contract is up - and move to Man U on a Bosman.

or...

If he wants to knuckle down and revive his career, make him sign a new 5 year contract with a release clause around £38m

We can't afford to play into Fergie's hands on this one - it will just prove that it will work again if he comes calling for Gio or Modric. We need to make a stand on this one - and I think Levy knows it. In the long-run - losing £30m in transfer fee and wages might be the cheaper option!

Of course we also need to publically annouce we're severing relations entirely with Man U - publically announce we will never be trading with them ever again - at whatever price.

They don't have this problem in the states - if a player acts up, his club can sell his contract to whoever they like, and the player is leagally contracted to whoever they choose whether they like it or not. Only the TOP, TOP stars have "no-trade clauses" giving them more say in the matter. Over there, without the EU butting their noses in, player power is very limited, the contract is king and the players are commodities to be traded - the upside being they get paid millions to do something they love - for that they give up some of the normal freedoms of working life.

There seems to be people saying we should have let him go early in the transfer window but at that time Man Utd hadn't made an offer or even approached the club officially, they were playing their destabalising little games and still are so actually it is all their fault.
It may be in our long term intersts not to sell Berba to them it may hurt us a little now but next time and with the next player they will know the cannot play their games and put one over on us.
A big week coming up I reckon.

That's exactly what Patrick Barclay implied on Sky this morning. He said he couldn't spell it out "for legal reasons but you all know who I'm talking about".

So even whilst under supposed investigation, they're still playing their illegal games oblivious to PL Rules?
