I have no fucking idea why Lloris isn't captain. Is there a logical reason for it?He's clearly made a big mistake with his captaincy appointment. Kabs is just not the right guy for the job.

I think it's quite an astute managerial decision. He now has the ability to veto the decision and say, this isn't working Kaboul is not up to the task and he is being dropped and now Loris or whoever else is captain. It gives him the opportunity to say, "I gave you clowns a chance and you blew it, so it's my way". If he had chosen someone and got it wrong, it's a lot harder for him to go back on it

Somehow I don't thing Bill Nick asked the players that question. But the captain is the player on the pitch the team will look to for leadership. He should be respected by his peers. No point choosing someone who the team doesn't think is best otherwise you immediately create division.
The worrying this is, Lloris will 100% be sold in the summer. That is one Vice Captain down.
That leaves Adebayor and Kaboul.
I'd like both gone for different reasons, but will Pochettino and Levy for that matter get rid of both? I'm at a loss on what to expect.
If Kaboul stays he will remain captain and continue to be played week in, week out. Making stupid mistakes and costly errors.
If Adebayor stays his poisonous attitude stays at the club and his poor performances are almost a certainty to continue, with Pochettino's pressing game once again being non-existent due to Adebayor's poor work rate and lack of ability to start the press.
Dark times.
Its a sequence of problems.
Firstly we should of been buying a top quality CB over the summer. We tried and failed, but we should of gone for another quality CB instead of dropping down the ladder of quality so to speak. And this all should of happened much earlier in the window.
It was something we were crying out for, and I thought the whole point of off loading Dawson was that we were in for a serious upgrade in that position.
So had we acquired a top class CB, who should be partnering Vertonghen, how on earth would Kaboul have made captain?
It all stemmed from there IMO.
Just one fuck up after another. Kaboul should never of been a serious candidate for the captaincy had we gone about our recruitment properly.
The implications of not getting in a much better CB to partner Vertonghen are huge. Not to mention the inexplicable handling of the latter at present.
To be honest I'm just lost for words, but not surprised that our transfer dealings have once again come back to bite us in a big way.
When will Levy learn. Understands the price of everything and the value of nothing in terms of the teams needs.
And this is coming from someone who has been very pro Levy.
Fair points but how many people had heard of Mussachio before this summer? everyone was creaming themselves over the guy but he had something like 2 caps for Argentina, I am not convinced he would have sorted out our problems in defence
Kaboul should not even play for a pub team though let alone be our skipper
Not many I'd say but I knew he was good, I watch enough Spanish football to know.
But anyway that's moot, at the end of the day we needed a quality CB.
I don't really follow much Spanish football, but I had heard of Fazio, as he was skipper for a pretty decent side, and he has been an absolute liability here.
The only sure fire bet centre backs would cost 25m and 100+k a week sadly
We needed a goalscorer and Soldado fitted that remit perfectly.Wouldn't go quite that far, I do think there is better value out there.
Look the point is we spunked a hell of a lot of money, but we needed to spend it closer to what the team needed as opposed to players with potential.
I know we got Soldado, who was a seasoned pro, but we should of been in for a proper CF for that money.
Actually it fits in with the "step up or ship out" that's been thrown about it recent weeks.I think it's quite an astute managerial decision. Its had a bugger impact alrightCertainly Kaboul shouldn't be a regular starter never mind Captain, and if Adebayor divides opinion like he does amongst fans, i cant see it being any different in the dressing room.
Maybe it's had a bugger impact than we thought?

Have you ever been in a room full of Belgians.. I have, after an hour I thought I was going mad, there so boring.. a pencil has more personality than a Belgian. Harry Kane for captain at least the post match interviews would lighten the mood.. we could have a what was Harry saying thread.Personally I find it hard to back a goalkeeper as captain, so I'm not that fussed there.
In one way I think Kaboul is a stop-gap captain, in that the idea is that he might go in the summer and a new captain can be chosen without stripping anyone else of the title.
I think we should be more concerned with why Vertonghen didn't seem to be in the running. I hate to say it, but I have a strong feeling that this guy is a total cancer in the dressing room. It seems that unless everything is done exactly as he wants it then he is willing to watch his career pass him by just to make a point.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think his attitude has let us down more than any other player over the last couple of year, especially considering how significant a role he has the potential to play for us.

Yes it was not a good choice and its a hugely important one, on current form Kaboul shouldn't be playing nevermind captain. It all started so well but clearly theres big problems within the team, and i'm just wondering if giving the Captaincy and Vice Captaincy to Kaboul and Ade has made for an unhappy dressing room.Certainly Kaboul shouldn't be a regular starter never mind Captain, and if Adebayor divides opinion like he does amongst fans, i cant see it being any different in the dressing room.
