A start to getting rid of the loser mentality is to drop players when they are woefully out of form i.e Son. Its too comfortable for the favoured ones.

It's frustrating how many goals we concede that are due to stupid mistakes rather than the opposition doing something brilliant. Ronaldo's first goal today seems like one of the first for a long time where we haven't just gifted a goal.
I thought it was gifted, so much space, could have went and made a cup of tea before he was closed down.

What was the point turning up at City and doing Pool a favour, then putting that performance tonight.

If Dier had closed down the first goal would not have happened.

I was pleased overall. I thought we were the better team and with replacements for the usual suspects (yes, Doc is back in that bag and we all know it) we will be a fighting force next season.

So Pool could win the league and we get enough points for conference league, fantastic all round, the icing with the icing.

We had much better attacking plays developing.

Never looked liked scoring? Lol. Son should of, Davies off side...

Helmet lol.
Davies was a mile offside. Son had a pretty decent chance, yeah, but that was it. We’re just consistently not creating chances when teams deny us space to counter and today was just another example.

Agree. We are so pedestrian against teams who sit deep. We have so little creativity

It's been this way since AVB. I don't think we regularly cut teams apart inside the opposition half since Redknapp and maybe some spells under Poch. We've never replaced the passing and attacking intelligence of Modric and VdV.

Frustrating game. Massive missed opportunity. We weren't amazing but deserved a result. Ronaldo got them out of jail. All 3 goals coming at key times.

I don't think I've ever seen a worse Utd team.

There are signs of improvement and clear signs of where improvement is needed. Like Conte says we need patience.

Imagine if we had a Modric in that midfield (when he played for us). We’d be twice the team straight away.

We need the scouts to do their jobs for once and bring us quality in the summer. It’s out there we just need to get it right. I don’t think we are miles off being a decent side. But without top 4 we will have Kane agitating to leave all summer again.

Didn't deserve anything from the game you can't defend like that and expect to get away with it.
Hardly tested the keeper which is getting more and more common this win one lose mentality is mid table stuff where we belong.
Conte has an unenviable task trying to turn this club into a so called force.

“It’s the history of the Tottingham”

We know the score. We should never have lost that game. No way. But we did. And the guy who was dropped last week scored a hat trick. Because Tottenham.

I can’t wait to see the back of players like Davies, Hojbjerg, Reguilon, Doherty. Not consistent enough week to week. And we need enough strength in-depth to whip Son off when he’s struggling.

so angry tonight.

As much as we wanted it to be about this season, it is time to be resigned to the fact that it is really is all about next season. It is encouraging to see what he has done with our team. We are only a few players away as long as those players are mentally strong and can act as leaders especially in the midfield.

We're getting there. Disappointing to lose, obvs. But I can see us coming together. This year, certainly once Conte took over in reality, was always going to be a massive 'pre-season' for next year. We have some quality new additions that have strengthened us. I think he'll be backed in the summer. Next year IMO, we'll be much much better.
