Beat me to it.

Assuming that we do lose the next two games, we would be at worst six points out of the top four with a possible seventy-five to play for. It would be a bit more difficult to achieve, certainly, but hardly in the realm of impossible. Even if we do, the chance of AVB being fired as a result is just about zero. Those who want him out are going to be disappointed.

Think your being a bit too kind regarding avb as it's more than likely we will lose the next two games regardless but getting top four is very unlikely imo as we cant score goals like the rest do.
andre is no fool and will know the pressure is on him to deliver this season as he took over a top four team which if we were to finish 8/9th this season the way we are going would be totally unacceptable.

How is it more than likely? Have you been watching both Mancs clubs this season?

Yes a couple of times city at home are nearly unstoppable but there away form is shit and utd are finding their stride unlike us yet.
...a couple of times we've been really good too, especially away from home! Utd have got weaknesses in defence. Finding their stride? Like I said, it's been a weird season so far, plus the fact that the international break stops anyone from getting into a stride.

I just don't like us right now and have a feeling we could finish as low as 8th or 9th which is disastrous imo I think avb would probably be on his way if that were to happen.

I get you. We're all concerned. We're all fans. I agree with you about the 8/9 position and what that would mean for AVB and the club. But, we're not anywhere near that discussion yet; especially in terms of where we are in the whole season or the equally patchy form of our rivals.

I think it's becoming a relevant concern, insofar as our attacking play needs to improve significantly if we're to have any chance of finishing in the top six.

We've been playing slow, unimaginative football under AVB for well over a year now. I don't blame people for speculating on what this might mean for the future.

We're all concerned, and we're all speculators; but, some folks seem to be predicting doom. There's a difference. I agree, our attacking play does need to improve significantly to get top six.

Things could very well take a turn for the better. Lamela might become a key player in our starting line-up, Capoue coming back might provide the combination of defending and passing that makes the most of Paulinho's strengths, and Rose coming back into the side could give us the width and shape that suits Soldado. Plenty of possibilities for things to improve.

I just think some of AVB's recent decisions have shaken the confidence of some of the fans, including mine. I was hoping we'd bring in AVB after we sacked Harry, and overall I thought he did brilliantly in his first season with us. However, we don't seem to be progressing this season, and some of AVB's negative attributes are becoming all too apparent. I've gone from being a champion of AVB, to starting to dislike him and his vision for the club.

If I'm perfectly honest I don't think he's doing a very good job when you look at the players he has available, and I think he'll be gone in under a year. In the meantime I'll still be supporting him and hoping this is just a blip.

I'm banking on the the fact that he's 36 and young, and that he will become less rigid in his ideas. I'm hoping it means he'll develop and learn. We're probably not far apart in our opinions in many ways. My main frustrations with him are twofold:
1) He hasn't taken the necessary risks to find out more about the players, especially the new ones, he has at his disposal.
2) He hasn't been flexible in using different systems, like regular wingers, alternating his pressing game or getting Ade in, to suit the opponent, or cover for our own lack of pace due to injuries.
For me, the jury's still out, but the clock's ticking...

Personally i think, once Lamela Holtby and Erickson(when ever he returns) starting playing, they will be undroppable and our attacking play will increase significantly.
Till then hes playing a dangerous game.
Only time will tell.

dont count on that, these new quotes from dembele are worrying.

I Cant stand 2 DMs in a double pivot

Unfortunately for Dembele, he seems to have recently lost his place at White Hart Lane, withAndre Villas-Boas telling Dembele he prefers the more defensive Paulinho, and Sandro in the midfield.

“I can not be satisfied with it, of course, I just want to play as many games,” said Dembele. “The coach explained that he makes a tactical choice, he wants more defensive players in midfield.”

Even after Harry? Once we win something or are finishing on top 4 more often than not, then I might agree. However looks more like we're heading down from the 5th rather than moving up.
Well I was saying I didn't think Harry should be sacked, the jury is still out on whether we are improving or not. You could argue that we are because we had a record number of points last season, and then again you could say we only finished fifth.

I understand your point, but Dembele has played a lot more good games in this league than all of those added together.

PATIENCE

A good question, the knee jerkers would be screaming for action.

Yes he has, but not this season, could be a hes carrying an injury and is refusing to have it operated on, this is only a rumour.
Needs to get it sorted if so, or he could be sold.

That is a hell of an imagination. I would be happy with them being reliable at the moment.
