I didn't give anyone a 10................that's reserved for Lionel Messi and no-one else.

10 Ashley Cole (Che) 8.72

Yes he is a rat of a man, yes he messed up a relationship with a hot bit of filth and yes he plays for that blue Russian team but he is still widely considered the best left back in the Premiership and maybe the world. Garth Crooks' favourite player is the first of 3 defenders in the top 10 and the top ranked Chelsea player.

Ashley Cole went up in my estimation after doing the dirty on that annoying , stupid , unhealthy skinny Geordie fleabag

In fact you could say she is only famous because she married a footballer as she has no talent of her own, hence why she has kept his name.

9 Rafael Van Der Vaart (Tot) 8.76

He has an awesome wife, he has an awesome left foot, he plays for an awesome football club. What more can I say? He is awesome.

I don't think you can really argue that VDV isn't up there though, nor Modric...nor Ledley.

Oh they're all wonderful players, but some of the players lower down have been a touch underrated in my opinion.

This may be a bit too much to ask IOMLS, but I don't think it should be TOO hard to do! Would it be possible to calculate the best teams in the prem (in our opinion), by adding together the ratings of each squad (say starting 11 + 7 subs). Be interesting to see how some teams rate in comparison to others.

Yeh I can do that when I get a chance.

vdv in 9th doesn't show Spurs bias imo. reckon bale would be higher if this was done on a neutral football forum too.

8 Carlos Tevez (Man C) 8.82

When i typed in his name my phone autocorrected it to carlos feces and that is probably what most fans in Manchester think of him.

7 Luka Modric (Tot) 9.07

Tottenham's player of the year last year became the biggest transfer story of the summer when he thought that he'd like to join Chelsea. I'm sure now he realises that he should stick to football and not thinking and probably thanks his lucky stars that he is still at Spurs. Great player, dodgy agent. First player to average at least a 9 and the second Spurs player in the top 10 already.

So far in the top 10 I voted Cole/Modric/Tevez as 10s, VDV as 9.

Of course bias is natural here, but it isn't out of the realms of fantasy that now have a few players that can quite justifiably be held up as the best in the EPL.

I don't think VDV at 9 and Modric at 7 really seems too unreasonable. I'm even a little surprised both aren't a touch higher.

I'm surprised Modders only made 7th. Not really that much Spurs bias, but I do expect King to be in the top 3, but he deserves it. Very underated by other fans.

Prediction of Top 6:
6 Aguero
5 Vidic
4 Rooney
3 RvP
2 King
1 Silva

For me that would be about right as well.

Wrong.

6 Ledley King (Tot) 9.07

The best defender in the world comes in at 6 in a dead heat with Modric (ahead on 10's). Before John Terry's incident with Anton Ferdinand he'd previously been sent off saying something to Ledley. In Ferdinands case the motive is still unclear what happened. In the Ledley case it is clear cut, pure and utter embarrassment at the defensive lesson from ledders. Hero.

Does this mean that SCers rate Ledley and Modders as being equally valuable to our team? I sense a poll....
