As a No. 9, playing the role he does, he is irreplaceable. The only possible replacement that springs to mind is Kanoute, and I somehow doubt that Levy will countenance having him back.
I'm just hoping that Berbs will give us one more season as surely he must realise that as well as his fantastic link-up play with Keano he'll also have Dos Santos and Modric providing a better quality of servie.
We'll also have Bale back who provide fantastic crossing and set play ability!
If he doesn't stay though...
... I'd like this to happen (or perhaps look at Gudjohnsen?)!
irreplaceable. i dont care what anybody says. for me, irreplaceable, just like ginola was
IF Berbatov leaves WHL...we may just 'pack up' and become hermits, or follow Scum! It! will be the 'icing' on our, amateurish style, cake! We will have fulfilled our promise as beong the perfect feeder club for our Manc masters! Is that was we want? Loosing Berby to Madrid, Barca, or Milan would be bad enough but to 'slit' our own throats by selling him to our MAIN Premiership rivals is ludicrous, in any soccer or other manual of greatness! We, at THFC have to make a stand if we are ever expected to 'advance' to where we see ourselves in the future.
Ofcourse, that is on the assumption that Levi and Co are 'of the mind' that we are CL material....and on that score...I sometimes wonder where they see us! A proven Prem Berby is far more important to us than a 'promising' De Santos or Mandric and Co. COYS
I cant believe anybody would suggest Spurs are a feeder club. I can never get my head around that. The last of our top players that we sold in at least 10 years was Carrick, but who else have we sold who we really wanted to keep? Spurs are not, and never will be, a feeder club so get that straight now, we're far too wealthy for it.
.
According to Dan, Milan have already submitted a bid, but it came nowhere near our valuation. There are also four other strikers mentioned there, and I'd say Drogba and Eto'o are far likelier candidates. Don't get your knickers in a twist.
I have always thought, and still do, that Berba will be a spurs player next season. Mainly because he will not have a tantrum if he does not get a move. He is motivated by playing good football with good players around him, not by money or by glory. He is not the type of player that would be happy playing poorly and winning, he wants everything he does on the field to be perfect.
He will have seen the quality and type of players that we are buying and the way that Ramos wants us to play, he knows that will only benefit him.
Like any player, if he has the chance to go and play for Milan and win things he will give it some thought, but it will not be something that he will b demand.
Apart form all of that I think that they Berba will be behind Eto'o, Drogba, Adebastard and Villa, as well as other strikers in terms of the players that they will want. All of those players will cost a similar amount to Berba and all will be more anxious to move.
The other thing is that we would have been far more active in seeking out a top quality replacement if we thought it was a probability that he was going to leave.

Juande Ramos last night admitted Tottenham are making plans for life after Dimitar Berbatov when launching a £30million auction for his signature.
Spurs manager Ramos has confessed they are looking at replacements, with Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o top of their list, because the striker wants to quit the club this summer.
Ac Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all in for the Bulgarian while Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen. Spurs, however, would rather sell to a foreign club than a rival.
Ramos admitted publicly for the first time yesterday that they are ready to sell and Berbatov will play his final game for Spurs against Liverpool on Sunday.

Ramos said: "We have to cover our back in case the player decides to leave and we have to have options to replace him.
"It's difficult to say whether it will be his last game. I would obviously like him to stay here but we don't know how future negotiations will go, so it's something I can't guarantee.
"I've spoken to him many times and I know exactly what he wants. But it is a private conversation and I won't say what he told me."
Barcelona could well be tempted by a player-plus-cash deal for Eto'o. But Ramos prefers cash only.
He said: "I'm sure the club would prefer to have the money because that would allow them to sign players on the market who are necessary."
